Those little square mini fridge’s do not cool like a full sized refrigerator. I have one and in the winter time it works like a champ, but when it gets warm, like now, it barely keeps pop cool.
Choosing a Good Bar Refrigerator For Your Home
It’s always nice to have a bar refrigerator in the house. You can use it with your home mini bar, put it in the living room or even your bedroom for easy access to some nice cold drinks and snacks. The biggest problem, however, is finding the right unit for yourself. After all, these things don’t come cheap.
If you’re not sure what a bar refrigerator is, it’s basically a small fridge that people usually use to fit their home mini bar with. The first thing you have to decide on is whether you want a single door or double door fridge. Like regular refrigerators, double door fridges have 2 separate sections, one is usually a freezer that’s a lot colder and can be used to make ice. If you plan to have frozen food or make ice in there, you wouldn’t want to find a single door fridge.
Next you have to decide how big you need it to be. It’s always a good idea to go for something slightly bigger than what you think you need. It never hurts to have some extra space in there. But this also greatly depends on where you plan to place it. Make sure you take a measurement of the space you intend to put it at to make sure you don’t get something that’s too big to fit. If you’re planning to put it in your living room, game room or bedroom, chances are you can go for something bigger since you’re not restricted to the size like you would be with a mini bar.
The brand of the fridge also plays an important role. You might be tempted to go for something cheap and go with some unknown brand, but it’s always a safer choice to go for something well known such as Sanyo or Haier. While you might have to pay a bit more, at least you know you’re getting something with quality, not to mention proper warranty and customer support. Unknown brands often have very poor or no warranty and support at all.
Even after you’ve bought your bar refrigerator, you have to make sure to keep it well maintained. Even the best refrigerator will break down if it’s not properly taken care of. You just have to keep it cleaned, clear it out at least once every 2 weeks and turn off the power if it’s not being used. Simple things like this can help keep your box working like new for a long, long time.
