How can I tell which way to turn the temperature controller on my fridge?
I have a german Siemens basic little under the counter fridge. The temperature settings go from 1-5. I know that 5 is the coldest, but there is no mark on the dial to know which way to turn the dial. The freezer started defrosting, so I’ve turned it off and got rid of little ice. Back on and the freezer seems fine (tiny freezer) – but the fridge isnt cold.
dont be so rude!!! You didnt read the question properly. I know it needs to go to 5, but there are no marks on the dial to say when it is at 5!!! I’m English by the way. By right, do you mean clockwise?

1 is warmest & 5 is coldest.
If your turning your stat & it’s not turning off the the thermostat is faulty. You see what confuses me is that you’ve stated that the fridge is cold, but in your update you state that it isn’t turning off!!?? So is the chiller getting too cold now?
Tell us if the chiller is getting too cold, if it is then it’s a faulty thermostat. If not report back & we’ll see what we can do!
