I've had this fridge for about six months and so glad we switched--originally bought the regular model and switched for counter depth. Ton of space inside, cool lighting, and I've had no problems with the speed of ice production like other reviewers. (We're a family of four; we've been using primarily in winter months, but still seems like it could handle ice needs at any time.) You do have to spend a few minutes re-arranging shelves so that you get a good configuration for lots of tall stuff, but we did find one that works well so that we have two shelves that fit milk, etc. I only have one complaint--very fingerprint prone. Of the 4 stainless steel products purchased for the kitchen, this one is by far the worst in terms of fingerprints, but I can live with it. All and all, so glad we got this one and not a French door model.
Disappointing

Bought this refrigerator based on Samsung reputation and what appeared to be innovative design. After actually using this model for a year now it seems the designers were clueless as to American lifestyles and proper functional design. Problems:
1- Main shelf (waist high) should be designed for heavy items like gallon milk jugs. But... the clearance is about an inch too short... so I have to to put heavy, large jugs of milk, OJ, etc on top shelf which is physically awkward.
2- Ice maker is WAY too slow in making ice... and storage bin is very small. Serve ice tea to a family of 4 and you are virtually out of ice for 24 hours.
3- Freezer door ice/water dispenser is very slow to respond-- awkward delay before ice begins to dispense (why??). Also, the design is such that you cannot see the top of your glass very easily to avoid overfilling.
4- Very hard to store frozen pizza in freezer. Must stack horizontal rather than vertical.
5- Digital controls on freezer door not very intuitive. Filter change light stays on all the time (poor design-- you must read manual to discover that light changes color when filter needs replacement- stupid).
6- Poor leveling system.
Disappointing purchase--- wish I could trade for a better designed refrigerator. Amazing that a leading company would not do better product functionality and usage research during the design process. I will not trust Samsung design again.
Need ice? Do Not buy this Fridge

Nice looks for your kitchen but very disappointing performance. Ice maker works at the pace of a snail. Even the "power freeze" selection which is supposed to make ice faster is disappointing. If you want to place a gallon of milk on a shelf (recommended over keeping it in the door by many) you must remove part of the second shelf up which leaves you with less shelf space. Wish I would have thought this purchase out more.
Gorgeous and great quality feel

Just got this after my old whirlpool died. It is very attractive, shallow in depth, and I love the inside LED lighting. The only thing I don't like so far is that the produce bins don't open all the way. You can lift the bin and pull it out more but then you risk the entire bin falling out.
I am really impressed with how much storage space there is inside this counter depth refrigerator.
So far, so good

We purchased the Samsung RSG257AARS a week ago to replace our old Whirlpool (around 25 years old) that chugged along like a locomotive and sounded like one too.
It's still early, but thus far I have to give the Samsung a big thumbs up.
Pluses:
1) Very attractive design inside and out.
2) The interior theatre lighting is a nice touch.
3) Very effective cooling.
4) Exceptionally quiet.
5) Simple-to-use controls
Minuses:
1) The shelving has limited adjustment capability.
2) The crisper drawers pull out only half-way, so access is a little compromised.
3) The freezer should have a special slot for pizza boxes to be stored upright.
Side note: This model has a stainless steel finish and a great cleaner to use is Weiman's Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish.
I heart this fridge
